Atlanta born--but a Texan now--singer/songwriter Carol Elliott has a remarkable story. Working with Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and many other talented singer/songwriters in Nashville shaped Carol as a professional performer. It all started when she dared to try street singing at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Her melodic, joyful voice drew tourists in. After opening for David Crosby at The Great American Music Hall her career as an American troubadour took flight.
Carol's list of credentials includes:
-
Staff songwriter at two major publishing companies in Nashville
-
Record company exec on Music Row.
-
“Corn, Water & Wood,” written with Wendy Waldman, was recorded by Michael Martin Murphey and won the prestigious Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
-
Finalist in Kerrville Folk Festival's songwriter competition and regular main stage performer.
-
Enjoyed two Women of Kerrville tours with Eliza Gilkyson, Tish Hinojosa, Catie Curtis, Christine Albert and Alisa Fineman.

German label Taxim Records released Elliott’s fifth album, The People I Meet, which was nominated for a Grammy.
-
Performed “Message From Walter” on German TV and hit the charts.
-
Released six studio recordings of original material, five of which were recorded in Nashville and produced with Steve Gibson.

Her song, “Sequoyah,” was recently translated into Dutch by singer Mariska Petrovic.
-
Her song, "Solitary Hero," co-written with Alice Randall, was recorded by Sunny War for My Black Country: The Songs of Alice Randall, released in April 2024.
One fan shared with Carol, “After Hurricane Katrina I sang your song "Angels" as we searched for my cat…and we found her!” Carol lives in San Antonio, where she recorded her new 2023 release, Survival Machine, with Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Reyes who frequently accompanies her on guitar.
